Anthony Durheim

Small business owner and operator (Durheim Painting)

Tony is a born and bred Lismore local. He completed his schooling at Goonellabah Public and Kadina High School, and in 1982 began his painting apprenticeship in his parent's painting business.

He was a professional rugby league football player for the Gold Coast for many years, which meant he commuted daily from Lismore for training and game days. Tony played locally for the Marist Brothers Rams, enjoying success with the Rams in the 1999 and 2000 Grand Final sides.

Towards the end of 2000 he became more involved in the running of the family business “Durheim Painting” and continue to manage this today. The painting business employs about 50 painters and their two paint stores, Lismore Paint Centre, and Paint and Trade Supplies Lismore, employ a team of 10 across both stores.

His love of Rugby League continued after his playing years, as Tony joined the Northern Rivers Regional Rugby League (NRRRL) Management Committee. He held his position on the NRRRL Management Committee for 17 years, earning Life Membership in 2018.

As well as Marist Brothers Rams, Tony has been a proud member and participant of the Lismore City Rugby Club, Marist Brothers Cricket Club, and has been a Director for the past 10 years with the Lismore Turf Club.
